Dogs tend to be smart animals that can perform impressive tasks. However, not all of them can be considered bright. Some dogs, perhaps due to genetics or breeding, are mentally slow. Regardless, a dog’s intellect is not important to some dog owners.
A dog owner named Greta recently adopted a pit bull named Duncan. He was from a shelter and was given the nickname Peanut Butter. He’s not known for being smart, but he’s a funny and entertaining dog.
Greta had just recently lost a dog before adopting Duncan. She was looking for a new pet companion to be in her life. In the same vein, Duncan needed a better owner because his previous one was abusive towards him.
Duncan has strange habits that make Greta believe that he isn’t smart. For example, the dog would constantly try to eat falling snow. Furthermore, despite not liking bodies of water, Duncan still actively drinks from water fountains. He’s a strange dog that’s hard to figure out sometimes.
Duncan doesn’t like interacting with other dogs but adores meeting people. That’s why when Greta moved to a place where construction was happening nearby, the dog would constantly greet the construction workers. Furthermore, Duncan knows how to approach and please people with his personality.
Greta adopted a cat named Coco Bubbles, which became Duncan’s best friend. Duncan might not like dogs, but the same does not apply to cats. He is very gentle with Coco and would often snuggle with her.
Duncan lives a simple life free from stress, a far cry from his past life. Greta would often find him on the patio or near the window, enjoying a peaceful view. Of course, the cat is not far from wherever he is.
In hindsight, Greta realized that Duncan can be very attuned to her emotions. The dog knows what to do at any given point to provide happiness. This realization made Greta reconsider if Duncan is indeed smart but in a different way.
