A dog in an animal shelter caught the eye of this couple, and they decided to adopt him. The dog, a German Shepherd they named Rusty, was extremely shy and scared when they first got him.
However, with a lot of patience and love, they were able to help him come out of his shell. Rusty was with Miami Dade Animal Services when one of the volunteers did something amazing.
She shared a photo of Rusty with his now forever parents, and the couple was smitten. They just lost their German Shepherd, so this dog’s timing was uncanny.
Rusty had floppy ears, something that struck his mom and dad as odd. Their deceased GSD also had floppy ears, so now they knew that Rusty was to join their family.
The dog was very anxious in the shelter and would tremble whenever someone went to pet him.
There were also red markings in his cage in the shelter that said that he was aggressive and didn’t want to socialize much.
Those just made Rusty’s mom and dad want him more, so they adopted him. It was a good move because the dog melted when he met his new mom and dad. It was as if he knew they were his forever family.
The only thing is, mom now always feels like a third wheel. Rusty clicked with his dad so much that they always hang out together.
Rusty, you had better make it up to mom. Yes, we know you favor dad, but try to be fair for your mom’s sake, okay? She would love it if you just let her cuddle with you.
Rusty is now a happy and healthy dog, and we thank his parents for the life he now lives. Cheers to many more cuddles and loving moments, doggo!
