Kevin is a pit bull that truly embodies loyalty. He has experienced great betrayal and abuse, but he still wanted to be with his owner. Even in terrible pain, the rejected dog never showed any aggression. The only thing in his mind was why the person he trusted the most was hurting him.
Unwanted
Kevin’s tragic story happened one day when his owner tried to dump him. Witnesses said that they heard six gunshots near the woods. One of them saw a man get into his car, and the wounded pit bull still tried to follow him. But the dog owner sped off and didn’t even look back.
The pit bull still tried to follow, but he was in too much pain.
The Manassas Park Police came in a short while after someone reported the incident. Kevin wasn’t in the same spot anymore. But he left a trail of blood that led to the woods.
The cops searched for him, and it didn’t take long to find the injured pooch. In his state, he couldn’t go too far. They checked on the dog, and the officers saw that he had multiple gunshot wounds. Including one on his rear leg and one on his right shoulder. They rushed him to an animal hospital right away.
Happy and active
The cops called the hospital ahead to let them know that a severely injured dog was being brought in. Once they arrived, a medical team brought the dog to the operating room. The vets closed several wounds and took out a bullet embedded in his jaw. Eventually, they had to amputate his right rear leg because of the severe damage it incurred.
Amazingly, despite his injuries and the rejection he experienced, Kevin proved to be an optimistic dog. The medical team taking care of him said he is very friendly and loves to play with them. The lovable pooch still has a lot of healing to do, but it seems that his condition is not holding him back.
