It is horrifying to witness someone killing your dog, and Eli Filiatreau is no stranger to this. The 16-year-old young man saw the death of his six-month-old German Shepherd after a suspect killed him on purpose. Since then, the suspect has already been arrested by the Nelson County Officers in Kentucky.
According to Eli, he and his dog, Titan, was outside their residence when the tragedy happened. Eli was walking his dog like he always does when a car stopped in front of their house’s driveway. This time, the vehicle intentionally sped up and ran over Titan, killing him on the spot.
Eli did not know how to react immediately, but he knew Titan was dead. He then called his parents’ attention, who reported the incident to the local police station. Eli was still in shock when the officers arrived at their residence.
The police officers understood the pain the teenager was feeling at that time. If it was a consolation, the officers told Eli that the perpetrator was already caught. They also assured the teenager that they would press charges against the suspect and ensure he would face jail time.
But the kindness of the police officers did not stop there because they pooled money together to buy a new dog for Eli. The officers did this because they saw the pain in Eli’s face and would like to help the teen recover.
Fortunately, the police officers raised enough money to buy a new German Shepherd for Eli. While the new puppy will not take Titan’s place, the police officers are confident that he will make Eli happy.
True enough, Eli was overjoyed after learning about what the police officers did. He could not contain his happiness and gratitude for the police officers’ kindness. Although traumatized, the teenager promised he would be more cautious in taking good care of his new dog. Eli named his new friend Deputy.
