Sam, an adorable Belgian Shepherd living in Estonia, had already started his training to become a police dog. He is quite an attractive dog although still small since he is still a puppy. His training is very important so that he would be able to do his role in the Police Special Forces which is as important as that of the police personnel.
When the Police Special Forces posted a photo of the puppy online, the internet became overly invested in Sam’s development and training. This is not surprising because the dog was really adorable, especially when he was doing the typical police officer tasks.
Even though training had only begun, the dog definitely showed maturity and potential, according to his trainers.
The dog joined the pack a few weeks ago together with his gorgeous brother, Terror. The two dogs are currently undergoing training together, but they will be assigned to different positions.
Kristi Pai, Sam’s handler, stated in an interview that Sam’s training would last approximately one year. According to Kristi, this is the average training period for aspiring police dogs. During this time, all trainers handling the dogs will polish and improve Sam’s abilities so that she would do really well when he starts his duty.
Before the dogs go through intensive exercises, Kristi makes sure that they are in good physical condition. Sam went through a variety of medical examinations to ensure that he was mentally and physically fit for the upcoming activities.
Kristi stated that despite Sam’s youth, he shows maturity. The handler stated that not all canines of Sam’s age behave in this manner. Kristi is therefore certain that the dog will overcome any obstacles that may come up. Sam’s eagerness to learn and his friendly nature make Kristi certain that he will be the best police dog in the area.
