When a woman named Karen Tietjen was expecting her first child, her sister discouraged her from getting a dog. This was because Karen’s sister believed that a dog could pose a risk to a newborn child.
But Karen wanted to have a dog, and she believes that a dog can assist her in caring for her newborn. This is why, despite her sister’s warning, Karen still got a puppy, which she called Jack.

Karen began exploring the Internet for dogs available for adoption in her ninth month. But Karen’s sister found out about her plans and disapproved of them. According to Karen’s sister, it is not wise to have a child and then adopt a dog.
Karen’s sister emphasized that she had no objections to her having a dog. But Karen’s plan to get a dog during the crucial phase of her child’s growth is unsuitable, according to her sister. Additionally, Karen’s sister stated that a baby’s exposure to a dog could be dangerous.
Karen respected her sister’s opinion, but she was already leaning toward getting a dog. Despite her sister’s objections, she went ahead and decided to adopt a puppy.
After successfully giving birth to her daughter, the new mom promptly visited an animal shelter to adopt a dog. This was Karen’s first encounter with Jack, a black Labrador.
The shelter volunteers informed Karen that Jack is a well-trained dog. Therefore, she will not see the dog as a burden.
When Jack arrived at Karen’s home, the dog greeted the infant with love. At this point, Karen realized she had made the right decision. This was reinforced when Jack became her daughter’s first close friend.
