A mail carrier named Brittany Dunn was on her route when she noticed something odd on a grassy lot by the side of the road. She couldn’t believe what she saw. A dog was walking, and his head was stuck inside an empty plastic jug. The concerned lady pulled to the side and got off her vehicle to help the poor pooch.
Her immediate concern was that the canine wouldn’t be able to eat or drink with his head inside the container. She didn’t know how long the dog had been stuck, so she needed to help the animal quickly. But as she came closer, the dog ran away.
She tried to get near enough to remove the object from his head multiple times, but the canine was too fast.
Community search party
After multiple attempts to catch the dog, a man even tried to help, Brittany gave up. Besides, the dog had run away already and was too far for them. So the mail carrier decided to seek help from the community.
She posted a photo of the dog on social media and asked for assistance in looking for the dog and helping him out. The post quickly became viral and more people joined the search party. Soon, they were referring to the pooch as Bucket Head.
Tackled
With a large number of people looking for Bucket Head, it took only a few days to find him. He was as elusive as ever, but now there were enough people to corner him. One woman eventually tackled the dog and caught him. They removed the plastic jug on his head, and one of the rescuers even took the pooch home.
Chris Moulds, an Alabama resident and a dog lover, said he would foster the pooch until someone claimed him. If not, he will surrender Bucket Head to a rescue organization so they can find him a new home.
