After staying at an Ohio dog pound for two years, a nine-year-old canine may finally have a second shot at life.
Earlier this month, the Columbiana County Dog Pound in Lisbon, Ohio, took to Facebook to announce that ‘sweet girl’ Janice was still looking for a home after they took her in two years ago. They featured an endearing photo of her snuggling with a few toys on her bed. She was about seven years old when she arrived at the facility.
Together with the photo, the Columbiana County Dog Pound described Janice as a friendly canine who likes attention but is not overly needy. According to the facility, the picture shows how it doesn’t take much to make her happy – a big soft bed, her bear, and a kong with peanut butter ought to do the trick!
While the now-nine-year-old canine is not precisely a puppy most people prefer, they hope that people looking to adopt would take a chance on her. She has witnessed her other pound friends get adopted, bringing melancholy on her beautiful face every time she gets passed up.
According to the pound, no other canine has spent as much time with them as Janice had – even those placed under them for court cases before adoption.
However, after their touching plea, the Columbiana County Dog Pound recently shared that Janice now has a potential suitor! After getting a lot of inquiries, they thanked their followers for helping spread awareness about her. They expressed their hope that she might finally go home with a new fur mom in the days to come.
And even though the first adoption fails, the facility is still optimistic because several other people have expressed their interest in providing Janice with the permanent home she’s been longing for.
Well deserved, Janice! We’re all rooting for you!
