From a Portland, Connecticut shelter, the Brousseau family adopted a dog named Duke. He was depressed from living there but grew into beautiful and blooming with the family’s great company.
After six years of living with the family, Duke sincerely thanks the Brousseau in the most affectionate way possible! What did he do? Here is the story of how Duke returned the kindness of the Brousseau family.
Harper, the family’s new baby girl, had recently arrived in the family of Brousseau, and Duke, who is a quickly grown pup, had become protective of his younger sister.
The family was sleeping soundly one night when Duke dashed into his parents’ room and hopped on their bed. He was trembling abnormally and rejecting every command given to him. Eventually, Mom recognized his distress and inquired as to what was wrong.
When Mom found out what was wrong, Duke rushed his parents to his little sister Harper’s room, where he anxiously directed the baby, who was not breathing.
The family hurried their baby to the emergency room. Thanks a lot to the doctors because they saved baby Harper’s life just in time.
Duke finally settled down after knowing and assuring his sister that she was breathing properly and was doing fine! The family chills at the prospect that if Duke had not notified them on time, what would have happened to their 9-week-old baby Hamper?
The Brosseau family is forever thankful to their rescue boy, who is unaware he is a hero! We hope Duke’s story encourages people to take a chance on these courageous and faithful rescue dogs!
