This English Setter named Soup is a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, for quite some time now. The pooch lived with his family and was loved by their neighbors because of his lively personality. However, the pooch went missing one day after chasing a deer at a nearby woods.
Soup did not notice that while chasing the deer, he has already gone far. Since the woods is a difficult place to navigate, the pooch had problems going back to his home. The dog ended up at the Kilby Correctional Facility, where he received Southern hospitality from Charles Brooks, a maintenance supervisor.
According to Charles, he saw the pooch when he went to work on Monday morning. The pooch was curled up next to the shelter’s vehicle and seemed anxious and afraid when Charles saw him. Since Charles is a dog lover, he knows how to address the pooch. He then brought the pooch with a hot biscuit as well as water because Soup looked tired and hungry.
From here, the pooch developed a good rapport with Charles, so Soup trusted the maintenance worker. The dog then followed and helped Charles do his job during that day. But little did Soup know that his family in Alabama is already worried while looking for him.
The search lasted for three days, according to the dog’s fur parents, Michael and Leigh Parker. Michael said that as soon as they realized that the pooch was missing, they immediately looked for him into the woods. The search, however, was futile since they could not find the pooch. Meanwhile, Charles reported to the local police about Soup’s case.
Incidentally, Michael had filed a report about a missing pooch. The police officer said that Soup has a resemblance from the dog that was reported missing. The police then called Michael to come over and check whether Soup was his dog. The reunion happened right there and then.
