A local rescuer and her team do a lot of dog feeding. One of the places that they go to is an industrial zone.
As they were feeding the dogs one day, they saw a puppy in a corner wall. The puppy looked sick. It had bald spots on its body, a few bruises, and a swollen belly.
This dog clearly needs help. The rescuers thought of feeding it first, so they gave it food, but it refused to eat what was offered.
The rescuer tried her luck in hand-feeding the dog, and thankfully, that worked. The dog took the food out of the rescuer’s hand and slowly transitioned to eating the food on the plate.
The dog was so scared. One can tell that he rarely gets any human interaction. The rescuers were patient enough to take their time. They made sure that the canine got a little comfortable before they brought the dog to their vehicle.
The volunteers were finally able to remove her from that industrial zone. They immediately brought Zhora, the canine to the vet.
After Zhora was checked, she was diagnosed with demodicosis. It is another form of mange. The presence of mites in the body causes this condition.
Zhora would have to stay in the clinic for a couple of weeks to get treatment. Thankfully, after weeks of medications, she was healed, and also got her passport. This will allow her to be adopted anywhere in the world. Zhora even had a photoshoot that was posted online to attract potential adopters.
And it did. It caught one woman’s attention, and that woman adopted Zhora. Zhora is now healthy and happy with her new family.
The once sad and fearful dog is now full of life. She has to be since she is showered with love.
