In Estonia, a cute Belgian Shepherd named Sam is starting his training to become a professional police dog. Despite the dog’s cuteness and small stature, his job at the Police Special Forces will be as essential as the police officers’ duties.
When the Police Special Forces posted a photo of the dog online, the internet community became too invested in Sam’s growth. This is because the dog looks so cute while doing some of the drills that police officers usually do.
According to his trainers, the dog shows maturity and potential even if the training has just started. The trainers said that the dog joined the pack a few weeks ago and was joined by his adorable brother named Terror. The two dogs are training together, but they will be deployed in different posts.
In an interview, Kristi Pai, Sam’s handler, explained that Sam would undergo the training for about a year and a half. Kristi said that this is the average length of training for aspiring police dogs. Throughout this time, Sam’s skills will be polished and improved not only by Kristi but also by other trainers.
Before the pup engages in strenuous activities, Kristi ensured that the dog is in good shape. The dog underwent a series of medical check-ups to ascertain that the dog is mentally and physically prepared for the tasks ahead.
Kristi said that despite the dog’s young age, Sam is showing maturity and mental toughness. The handler explained that not all dogs of Sam’s age would be like this. As such, Kristi is confident that the dog will overcome any challenges that may come his way. More than this, Kristi knows that Sam will be the best police pup around because of the dog’s willingness to learn and his friendly demeanor.
