Although a dog will never be the same after a terrible event, this is never a reason to put them down. This kind-hearted man from California agrees, so when he came across a crippled dog in need of assistance, he didn’t hesitate to help her. Her makeover has now inspired canines and dog owners all over the world.
When a man named Zach Skow met Cora, a small poodle, for the first time in 2018, he assumed she had been in a car accident. Because of her fractured back, she was entirely immobile, and to make matters worse, she also had a shattered pelvis and severely wounded front legs.
The vet advised Zach that he should put Cora to sleep. However, the 40-year-old fur parent, who had previously cared for dogs with fewer than four legs, disregarded the advice and scheduled Cora’s surgery to save her legs. Her two front legs, however, had to be removed due to complications.
Zach was disappointed to see the dog lay still, but he wasn’t one to give up quickly. He started to teach Cora how to use a cart to get about the house shortly after she recovered. He also didn’t over-indulge her by constantly carrying her around.
As a result, Cora began to reclaim her legs, and by three months, she was able to hop around unassisted with just her rear legs. She would frequently jump around in their house as though she was born with two legs.
Despite the fact that she moved more like a kangaroo than a dog, Zach stated that he wouldn’t have her any other way. He also noted that she began to open up to them and make friends with everyone she encountered.
Take a look at Cora, who seems to be having a good time.
