A Bulldog named Franklin is a typical dog of his breed who prefers sleeping all day to doing zoomies at the park. However, his owners, Caitlin and Frank, discovered a strange habit by accident. When Franklin’s humans were out in the yard digging a drainage ditch, they suddenly saw Franklin in the hole. And, no matter how many times they told him to get out, Franklin refused to budge.
Caitlin and Frank are avid gardeners and often dig holes for new plants. For a lazy dog who loves to lay down and sleep all day, Franklin always gets excited whenever he sees his parents in the yard with shovels. Franklin patiently waits for both Caitlin and Frank to finish digging a hole. Once they’re finished digging, Franklin would stealthily walk and get in the hole and claim it as his own.
Whenever Caitlin or Frank grabs a shovel from the garage, Franklin knows that he’s in for a treat. He even learned to tell if his humans are going to dig a hole soon. Whenever there’s a new plant in the yard, Franklin knows that there’s also going to be a hole soon.
Franklin would even investigate the yard if a new hole already exists once he sees a new plant. What’s even funnier about Franklin’s strange hole obsession is that he never digs one out on his own. He prefers leaving all the dirty work to Caitlin and Frank, which is truly a hallmark for a Bulldog.
