Yong-Am lived with her Grandpa up in the mountains for several years. They were family and they depended on each other for a very long time. But when the old man died, the poor dog was left behind.
Thinking Grandpa simply went somewhere, Yong-Am waited for him outside their old home. She stayed put for so long even though he never showed up. She also went to places they visited together hoping he was there, but she didn’t find him.
Feeling sorry for the pup, the man who owned the farmland Grandpa and Yong-Am frequented decided to help. He fed the dog regularly, but that was the most he could do. Yong-Am was so wary of people that she did not trust even those who showed her kindness.
The dog’s determination to find her grandpa kept her on the move. She searched everywhere for him even after she got caught in a trap. She lost one leg but that did not stop her from doing what she wanted. She carried on despite her condition.
Years quickly went by and without anyone to take care of her, Yong-Am became pretty filthy and her fur matted so badly. Not to mention that she only had three legs, she almost didn’t look like a dog. She continued to search for Grandpa and failed to notice everyone who wanted to help.
Soon, local rescuers stepped in and quickly laid out a plan to catch the dog. They worried for her health so they decided to execute their plan at the soonest possible time. They made the necessary preparations and left no room for failure.
Cornered in her old home, Yong-Am had nowhere to go. She tried to fight back and escape by chewing off the net that restrained her. She struggled. But when she realized she was safe, she calmed down and let the rescuers do their job.
After four years of waiting in vain, Yong-Am was finally safe. She received the medical care she did not get for a very long time and had a much-needed haircut, too. She was reborn, and she started fresh with her new dad, the man who took care of her since Grandpa passed away.
