There is nothing more adorable than seeing dogs running around in excitement and doing some zoomies. But what if your pup decides to do this at an ungodly hour in the early morning? Well, it’s not like animals know how to read the clock or understand the importance of sleep.
Take this bouncy dog, for example. Santana, the energetic Whippet, kept her owner wide awake with her multiple laps of zoomies at 1 AM. She ran circles around the bedroom and jumped on and off her owner’s bed in Melbourne, Victoria.
This sighthound breed is a direct descendant of the ancient Greyhound, so it is not surprising that they are similar. Whippets are known for their medium-sized sleek body and lightning-quick speed. During the breed’s formative years, they were nicknamed at the ‘Lightning Rag Dog’ and the ‘Poor Man’s Racehorse’.
They may not be as quick as Greyhounds, but they can still outrun a white-tailed deer and a kangaroo. In the world of dogs, the Whippet is considered as the Ferrari. Luckily, Santana didn’t crash head on to her owner while she was racing around the bedroom.
The Whippet’s owner posted the video on the internet with the caption ‘I just want to sleep.’ This comical moment proved that the energetic Santana wasn’t quite ready to sleep just yet. At the beginning of the clip, Santana leaped across her owner’s bed as if on a hurdle race.
With her paws clattering on the floor, she landed and ran full sprint while circling the bed. Santana hopped back on top of the bed again and stopped right in front of her owner. For a few seconds, Santana hilariously stared at her owner.
Still full of energy, Santana jumped off the bed and darted towards the door. She then raced back and launched herself in front of her tired human once again. These two laps weren’t enough to tire her out. So the little Whippet continued her zoomies with no regard for her sleepy owner.
