The pandemic has given individuals across the globe their fair share of ups and downs – but even more so for actress Naomi Watts, who is feeling a little more emotional due to the passing of her beloved canine.
Last July, the 52-year-old Twin Peaks actress announced through Instagram that her 20-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Bob had run off to doggy heaven. She penned a heartfelt tribute for him on her social media platform. Watts described it to be an honor to have him in their lives and that he would live in her heart and soul forever.
Together with an aesthetically pleasing photo of the pup basking in the sunlight from a nearby window, the actress also included the hashtags #legend and #wingman – perhaps an apt description of the role that Bob played in her life for the past two decades.
Several friends and supporters gave their sympathies and messages of support in Watts’ comments section in response to her emotional post. This includes celebrity pals Chelsea Handler and Helena Christensen, who sent their warm thoughts and virtual hugs for Watts on her loss.
According to Daily Paws, Yorkshire Terriers have an average lifespan between eleven to fifteen years. The breed makes up for a wonderful family dog – so it doesn’t come as a surprise that Bob was the perfect addition to the actress’ pack.
Watts, a known animal lover, introduced an adorable puppy named Izzy to her crew earlier this year after undergoing emotional struggles during the pandemic. Last May, she was seen out and about in New York City while walking her dog with Gypsy co-star Billy Crudup.
Last March, the actress revealed her emotional troubles through an Instagram post caused by the ongoing pandemic. She posted a photo of herself while doing yoga and motivated her followers to stand firm and have hope. She expressed positivity about how all these will end, knowing perfectly well that everyone is finding ways to navigate these awful uncertainties.
Our thoughts are with you, Naomi! We know it’s tough to lose a furry pal, but take comfort in knowing that he led a life well-lived!
