Dion is the man who ran the race across the Gobi Desert. Suddenly, he noticed that some stray dogs followed him all the time. She followed him to the tent when, and then she curled up beside him. He gave her water and food, which is how he began caring for her.
That night, he named her Gobbi after the place where they met. Immediately, a spark formed between them, and as Dion said, she didn’t choose him for no reason. There has to be more than “Man meets dog.” Gobbi ran with Dion throughout the race.
Along the 77 miles, the length of the race, the dog could quit whenever she wanted, but she didn’t. He saw a lot of resiliency and courage in her. The hard life that Gobbi had reminded him of his childhood.
He decided to help Gobbi, so he asked his wife what she thought of it, to which she immediately agreed. After the race, Dion returned to the UK, and Gobbi had to go into quarantine. Although everything seemed to be correct, a problem appeared – Gobbi disappeared.
Dion was unfortunate because he got very close to this dog in a short time. He promised Gobbi a better life and returned to Urumqi, China, to find her. Ten days after multiple actions started, he received a call that they may have seen Gobbi.
It was Gobbi, and the excitement was mutual. After five months of quarantine, Gobbi and Dion returned to the UK. After all, they deserved to enjoy living together.
