When a woman named Karen Tietjen was pregnant with her first child, her sister advised her against adopting a dog. This is because Karen’s sister believes that a dog could potentially harm a newborn child.
But Karen wanted a dog so badly and she personally believes that a dog can help her care for her infant. This is why, despite the warning from her sister, Karen nevertheless got a dog which she named Jack.
Before learning that she was pregnant, Karen was already interested in adopting a puppy. However, Karen put the adoption on hold when a pregnancy test revealed a positive result. This is because she desired to prioritize her pregnancy above all else.
Karen was upset, but she knew she would soon be able to get a dog. She knew that this was just a pause on her plans but she would soon get the dog that she has really wanted to have.
In her ninth month, Karen began searching the Internet for adoptable pets. Karen’s sister learned of her plans, and disagreed with them. According to Karen’s sister, having a baby and then adopting a dog is not a smart thing to do.
Karen’s sister stressed that she was not opposed to Karen having a dog. For her, Karen’s plan to get a dog during the important period of her child’s development is inappropriate. Karen’s sister also stated that the presence of a dog could be harmful to a baby.
Karen appreciated her sister’s perspective, but she was really leaning toward getting a dog. So she still decided to get a dog despite her sister’s caution.
The woman immediately visited an animal shelter and looked for a dog to adopt after the birth of her daughter.
This was the first time that Karen met Jack, a black Labrador. Volunteers at the shelter informed Karen that Jack is an educated dog. As a result, she will not find the dog to be a burden.
When Jack arrived at Karen’s house, the dog showed his kindness toward the infant. This was when Karen realized that she had made the correct decision. This was even strengthened when Jack became her daughter’s first best buddy.
