FedEx driver Mike Holliday was on his delivery route one day when he noticed a black puppy running around a park. A man was chasing the pooch, but he couldn’t seem to catch her. Eventually, the dog widened the distance between them, and the guy had to give up.
Mike saw the pup run to the road, and he got worried that she would get hurt. A dog owner himself, he couldn’t stand to see that happen. The Arizona man stopped his vehicle to try and get her. But as soon as he slid his door open, the dog run towards him and jumped inside his truck.
Delivery buddy
Once inside his vehicle, the puppy nestled among the boxes and made herself comfortable. Mike went up to her and saw that she had a tag on her collar. He inspected it and saw the words, Foothills Animal Rescue, labeled on it. He got in touch with them to let the staff know that the pooch was safe with him.
That’s when he learned that the dog’s name is Ursula, and she was recently adopted. But things didn’t work out well with her new family, and she was returned soon after.
For the rest of the day, Ursula sat beside Mike and accompanied him in his deliveries. The dog was well-behaved, and Mike fell in love with her. When he got off work, he took her home and bathed the puppy. They then gave her some food and water.
Considering adoption
Mike’s family adored the dog as well and even considered adopting her. But after taking some things into consideration, they already have two dogs and four daughters, they decided to bring her back to the shelter.
The whole family was sad to see her go, but their home was already crowded. They really hope, though, that she will find a family of her own who can provide her with a good life.
