The Russian borzoi, or otherwise known as Russian wolfhounds, were initially bred to be fast and healthy dogs who can chase after their target with ease. They were often described as being ‘cat-like’ since they have a stubborn streak and would often use manipulative means to get their way. However, they were also known to be affectionate family dogs, although they act calmer and more dignified about it.
This breed craved companionship and wouldn’t fare well when left on their own for long periods. Despite their regal appearance, these dogs were easily satisfied with taking quick sprints outside, after which they would lounge around all afternoon on the sofa.
One particular borzoi has caught the online community’s interest with her distinctly beautiful yet unusual features. Tupelo, or Tupey, as she’s called, was a two-year-old pooch that has captured numerous hearts around the world with her completely adorable and tremendously long snout. This borzoi’s Instagram account has already amassed more than 77,000 followers, all of which wanted to boop her nose.
This gentle giant’s elegant snout became the talk of the town. Funnily enough, Tupey used her incredibly long snoot for sniffing out hidden treats and snacks. Her mom, Allison, shared how this smart doggo used to sneak around and steal any treats she hid in her jacket pocket while hanging out in the dog park.
When Allison stopped bringing treats during their walks, Tupey turned to the other patrons of the park. She used her wily charms to get closer to potential human targets then stealthily inspect their pocket areas with her snoot. With her height being at the perfect level to reach their pockets, this mischievous pup usually achieved success and walked away with her prize.
Everybody knew about her tricky ways and expert pickpocketing skills. But because they all loved her sweet nature, they always let her get away with it. For such a refined breed, Tupey can be a total goofball.
