Sali Hughes, a journalist and the co-founder of the cosmetic and personal care UK-based brand Beauty Banks, was looking for a big dog to accompany her family every day. But everything changed the very second she met the mixed breed pup named Sylvie.
Sylvie was first discovered on the streets when she was just a few months old. The staff from Dogs Trust Evesham, UK’s largest dog welfare charity, suspected that she had never been in a house before but that was all they knew about her past. In time, she grew to be a very sweet-natured dog who had an insatiable appetite and really big, adorable ears.
And those were exactly the things that attracted Sali to Sylvie when she first met her at the shelter. Despite Sylvie being a lot smaller than the pup Sali intended to adopt, there was a different spark of chemistry that Sali felt between the two of them. Not only her but her husband and their kids also immediately fell in love with her.
And so, she knew right there and then that she was the perfect fit for her family. They didn’t waste any more time and officially adopted her and took her home with them.
Sylvie also settled right in quickly with them like she already regarded them as her family. She was very curious, clever, very energetic, and within an hour or two, she was already lying across Sali’s lap. And over the years with Sali and her family, Sylvie also grew bigger but her personality never really changed. She was still the soft, silly, and clever girl that they brought home.
Sylvie might not have been Sali’s first choice when she walked down the shelter to adopt but years later, she was still the best decision she ever made.
