When dogs suffer from separation anxiety, they often resort to howling non-stop and destroying the furniture around the house. This adorable German Shepherd, however, discovered a wholesome and non-destructive way of coping with her anxieties. And now she’s going viral for it.
When Raven Atchison adopted Kalina, she realized that the sweet pooch had separation anxiety. The pup would often dread being left alone in the house and typically preferred being around Raven. That was why the fur mom made sure that she was always at home as much as possible.
On the days that she did have to leave Kalina, she would still watch over the pup through the security cameras she installed around the house just for this purpose. She would regularly check on the pooch and see if there was anything stressing her out while she was gone.
It was during one of these days that Raven noticed something peculiar about Kalina’s behavior. The fur mom was out on an errand in town that day, so the German Shepherd was all alone at home. Raven decided to sneak a peek at what the pooch was currently doing, and that was when she caught the adorable moment.
Kalina was hanging out in Raven’s bedroom, sniffing around for something in particular. The pooch then got to her fur mom’s stack of clothes and continued sniffing there. After a few seconds, she pulled out a red piece of clothing from the pile and brought it over to the bed.
The pup then warmly cuddled with the clothing, apparently eased by Raven’s scent left on the clothes. The fur mom was so moved by the pooch’s odd behavior that she couldn’t help but share the wholesome clip online.
It made a couple of rounds on the internet and eventually garnered over 150,000 views on YouTube to date. Watch Kalina’s heartwarming viral clip here.
