Dog owners and their pets usually meet during adoption. However, sometimes, they meet in the most unusual circumstances. A good example is what happened to a woman named Laura when she met a neglected dog while driving to school.
It was another ordinary day for Laura when she came across a large fluffy dog chained up to a tree. The dog was very loving and accepting of her, making her wonder why it was tied up. She called animal control, hoping they would rescue the dog, but it didn’t yield any good results.
Laura found out that the dog had been tied up for four years. The owner admitted that they could not take care of him properly. At the same time, they refused to surrender the dog to animal control.
Laura did not give up and instead tried to help the dog in her own way. She made sure to make visits 3 to 4 times a week. She consistently did this for an entire year, which made the dog grow fond of her. Laura has taken frequent videos of her visits and has amassed quite a collection.
There was a time when Laura was not able to stick to her usual visiting schedule. She went on summer vacation and was able to return to the dog after a month and a half. What she saw that time caught her off guard.
The dog had developed an ear infection that was slowly damaging the tip of its ear. That was when Laura called animal control once again. A rescue team came and demanded that the owner surrender his dog because of its current state.
The owner complied but asked who would take care of the dog. This is when Laura stepped in and informed the owner that she was willing to take that role. From then on, Laura became the new owner and named the dog Takia.
