LoveyLoaves Special Needs Rescue and Sanctuary was an organization dedicated to saving and rehabilitating dogs in need. They help strays and mistreated canines with unique features.
Christmas miracle
Noelle was a two-week-old Chihuahua that was born with two legs. Her mother was a rescue dog that lived at the rescue organization.
When Noelle’s mother stopped nursing her, the shelter asked one of their volunteers named Cheri if she was willing to foster the pup. Cheri gladly accepted and took the dog home a day before Christmas Eve.
In the beginning, Noelle moved a little bit as she pushed with her feet. Other than that, she didn’t move a lot. Cheri’s goal was to keep her warm and to bottle-feed Noelle regularly.
Since day one, Cheri knew that Noelle needed a wheelchair. Usually, the sooner a special needs puppy got assistance, the better because it becomes a natural process for them.
Noelle went through a small period where she wasn’t doing well. She had trouble breathing and needed the help of a nebulizer. Cheri got worried, but she never lost faith in the dog.
Road to recovery
Cheri arranged for Noelle to get fitted for a wheelchair. At first, she just sat there, not knowing what to do. Little by little, she mastered how to run and play with her aide.
It was clear that as soon as Noelle got comfortable in her wheelchair, she blossomed into a more confident and playful dog. She started spending all day playing with other dogs at the rescue.
Cheri didn’t plan on getting attached to Noelle, but she realized something. After seeing the pup’s transformation, she knew that Noelle was already with her forever mom. Cheri adopted Noelle and promised to give her the life she deserved.
