If you can’t really help but fall in love with French Bulldogs, you’re not alone, and it’s easy to see why. They’re adorable, loving, and have a great sense of humor.
Just ask Haru, a French Bulldog who loves to spin whenever she’s in a happy mood. Her human sister finds her spinning funny and her chuckles of delight are proof.
We don’t know exactly when and why Haru started doing it, but it always gets a reaction from her human sister. The first time Haru spun, her sister laughed so hard that she lost her sitting balance. Now, every time Haru starts spinning, her sister knows it means that the dog is in a good mood and wants to play.
Haru’s spinning isn’t just for fun—it has origins in the French Bulldog breed. Frenchies were originally bred for bull-baiting (a cruel blood sport that was thankfully outlawed in 1835).
As a result of their breeding, French Bulldogs have strong muscles and legs that allow them to move quickly and nimbly—something that comes in handy when they’re trying to avoid getting caught by a bull, or for entertaining little sisters.
Haru’s Frenchie brother named Griffin doesn’t like it so much. Fortunately, Haru couldn’t care less about what he thinks. While we may never know exactly why Haru loves to spin, we’re just glad she does because her hilarious antics make everyone around her smile.
We can just imagine this little family having fun to the highest levels. We can say with certainty that watching a dog and a human baby have fun together is good food for the heart!
Next time your dog is feeling playful, try encouraging them to spin! You may just end up with a new favorite pastime—and some laughs along the way.
